CFP chair asked if committee considered weather of Ohio State-Northwestern game

College Football Playoff chairman Boo Corrigan has been making the media rounds to discuss the latest CFP rankings.
Ohio State remained at No. 2 in the 2nd edition of the 2022 CFP rankings, even after a sloppy Week 10 showing at Northwestern. The Buckeyes and Wildcats dealt with 40+ MPH wind gusts and rainy conditions, which undoubtedly hindered the offensive showing.
Chairman Corrigan was asked if the weather played a role in keeping the Buckeyes at No. 2.
Q. When you guys were evaluating Ohio State this week, how much did the weather that Ohio State played in at Northwestern factored into your evaluation and ultimate decision to keep Ohio State at No. 2?
BOO CORRIGAN: As we looked at all the different factors, whether it’s injuries or going back to last year, Coach not being available, those types of things, we’re going to consider weather, as well, and it was a topic of discussion as we went through it, just as everything else is, just to make sure we understand all the factors as well as the time that people spend watching the game and being able to reflect on that.
Corrigan admitted that weather was a factor, stating “we’re going to consider weather, as well.” Corrigan pointed to injuries, weather, staffing changes, and more being factors that the committee considers.
The Buckeyes defeated the Wildcats 21-7, while star QB C.J. Stroud only threw for 76 yards, by far his lowest total of the season.
