Chad Henne opens game with flawless drive, throws first TD since 2014 in start for Chiefs

On Sunday, Michigan football fans got to hear from an old friend.
With the Kansas City Chiefs locked into the top spot in the AFC, Andy Reid and co. are giving their star players a rest in the regular-season finale. That includes Patrick Mahomes, which opened the door for former Wolverine quarterback Chad Henne to get the start.
After one drive, Henne is looking quite good.

It was a perfect drive for Henne, who went 6-for-6 on the opening drive. It was capped off by a 3-yard touchdown pass to Byron Pringle to put the Chiefs ahead in a game that has little meaning for both squads.
Henne continued to put up solid numbers. Through one-quarter of play, Henne was 10-of-13 for 95 yards and a touchdown.
This is the first time we’ve seen Henne throw a touchdown pass in an NFL game since 2014. He did have a rushing touchdown in garbage time against Denver back in October.
Henne has been bouncing around the NFL since 2008 when he was drafted by Miami in the second round of the NFL Draft. He spent four seasons in Miami before moving on to Jacksonville and then eventually, Kansas City. He has thrown 59 touchdowns and 63 interceptions in his career.
