He is rated the No. 28 cornerback in the Class of 2023, according to the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 48 player in the state of Texas. He is the seventh commitment for the Spartans in the 2023 class, and the commitment lifted MSUs class ranking up 7 spots to 18th in the nation.
Rucker’s top 7 list on May 23rd was made up of the Spartans, along with Arkansas, Florida, Baylor, Cal, Nebraska and TCU.
Here’s a scouting report from Spartan Tailgate:
As for Rucker’s on-field skillset, he shows great fluidity with his hips and quick feet, allowing him to counter every cut that wide receivers make on him. His overall speed allow him to stay with his man down the field and also possesses great recovery skills. He also shows off his speed and explosiveness through his kick returning duties. Rucker also does not shy away from contact, as seen by the way he hits in the middle of the field and on special teams. He has the ability to start very early in his MSU career, given these tools and the competition level that prepared him in high school.
