Chances every team has to win the B1G, per ESPN’s FPI

ESPN’s Football Power Index always provides plenty of conversational topics before the start of the college football season. Sometimes, its projections seem pretty spot on. Other times they may be off the wall.

With the FPI updated to predict which teams have the best chance to claim the B1G title this fall, there’s sure to be plenty of conversation to ensue.

The FPI has been updated, projecting which B1G teams have the highest percentage to win the conference. And, yes, there are some interesting percentages from the formula. Here’s a look at the percentages ESPN’s FPI gives each team to win the league in 2019:

  • Michigan — 48.2%
  • Penn State — 10.4%
  • Ohio State — 8.7%
  • Michigan State — 8.3%
  • Iowa — 8.0%
  • Minnesota — 7.9%
  • Nebraska — 6.0%
  • Wisconsin — 1.4%
  • Northwestern — 0.6%
  • Purdue — 0.2%
  • Indiana — < 0.1%
  • Maryland — < 0.1%
  • Illinois — < 0.1%
  • Rutgers — < 0.1%
