Charles Woodson joins small group of all-time greats by being inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame

As if being immortalized in Canton wasn’t enough, Charles Woodson joined a very select group of elite players by being picked for the Hall of Fame.
Woodson is now one of 10 players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame who also won the Heisman Trophy.

Several of those players have national awards named after them, so that’s pretty good company for Woodson.
Woodson is the first Big Ten player to earn this distinction. He’s also the first player to accomplish this feat since Barry Sanders did it in 2004.
Woodson is the last defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy, doing so in 1997. He also won a number of other individual awards and the National Championship in 1997.
As a pro, Woodson was named to nine Pro Bowls, was a defensive player of the year and won Super Bowl XLV with the Green Bay Packers.
Woodson’s induction also means Michigan is one of four programs to send someone to the Hall of Fame in three consecutive years.
The Hall of Fame ceremony is set to take place in August.
