Even though everyone will remember Illinois-Penn State for going to 9 overtimes, Fighting Illini running back Chase Brown was a big reason for it to even get to that point.
Brown rushed for 223 yards in the game, which is the most a visiting running back has rushed for in Beaver Stadium history.

Brown averaged 6.8 yards per carry on 33 carries, plus had a rushing touchdown as well. The funny thing is, is that this wasn’t even his best game of the season.
He also had another 200+ rushing performance on Oct. 2 against Charlotte. Brown finished with 257 yards and 2 touchdowns on 26 carries as Illinois won 24-14.
Brown has been one of the biggest bright parts of Bret Bielema’s inaugural year as head coach. He’s already broken his career-high in rushing yards and touchdowns this season (637 and 4, respectively).
He’ll have a shot at a 3rd 200+ rushing yard performance when Illinois takes on Rutgers next Saturday at Noon ET.
