Chase Winovich is enjoying every second of it. Ever since the final seconds dwindled of the Spartan Stadium scoreboard and Michigan secured a 21-7 win over Michigan State, the Wolverines’ defensive lineman has been vocal about the victory.
As he should be, by the way. Michigan’s defense allowed just 94 yards on Saturday and Winovich is in his final season. Why shouldn’t he enjoy it?
But one Michigan State columnist wasn’t impressed with some of Winovich’s comments. After the game, in a television interview, the defensive lineman referred to Michigan State as “little brother,” prompting a response from Graham Couch of the Lansing State Journal.
That response sparked an incredible Twitter exchange between the two.
Here’s the exchange between Couch and Winovich:
Excuse me Mr Couch can you do me a favor real quick?

I didn't lose anything. But thanks.

Well played, guys.
There has been plenty of banter back and forth between Michigan and Michigan State since the conclusion of Saturday’s game, most of which was sparked by the pre-game scuffle and post-game remarks from Jim Harbaugh and Mark Dantonio.
The hatred between the two schools may be at an all-time high right now. Winovich’s comments are adding fuel to the fire.
Clearly he doesn’t care. And he shouldn’t.
