Chase Young earns national honor for dominating performance vs. Wisconsin

The first of what is sure to be an award-filled week for Ohio State defensive end Chase Young has been announced.
On Sunday, Young was named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Wisconsin. The Buckeye lineman tallied four sacks, five tackles for loss and two forced fumbles in Ohio State’s 38-7 victory over the Badgers.
After his dominating outing, Young catapulted into the Heisman Trophy conversation. Michigan’s Charles Woodson is the only primary defensive player to win the award (1997).
Young leads the nation with 13.5 sacks this season and ranks second with 15.5 tackles for loss. He’s tallied 29 total stops, forced five fumbles and blocked a field goal so far this season. He’s a huge reason why the Ohio State defense is head and shoulders above where it was a year ago.
Ohio State improved to 8-0 with the win. Young is sure to receive plenty of recognition this week for his unbelievable performance.
