Chris Holtmann says playing after falling piece of Assembly Hall jumbotron was ‘a significant concern’

Chris Holtmann was not shy about his concern level during Saturday’s game between Ohio State and Indiana.
Playing a primetime matchup at Assembly Hall, the beginning of the second half between the two sides was delayed due to a piece of the jumbotron falling to the court. That would be scary enough, but the piece fell just a few feet from Brice Sensabaugh with teams returning to the court.
On Monday, Holtmann said there would have certainly been a significant injury to Sensabaugh had the piece struck the Buckeye star. Fortunately, it didn’t, but Holtmann also said there was “significant concern” about resuming play in the second half considering the circumstances involved.

The second half did go off without further incident but Ohio State would go on to lose another B1G game, falling to Indiana 86-70. The Buckeyes are now 1-7 in their last 8 games to fall to 3-7 in league play. Only Nebraska and Minnesota have worse conference records at this point.
