Chris Olave had a solid showing in his first NFL season with the New Orleans Saints. He spoke about what the transition from college to the professional level was like.

While the Saints did not make the playoffs, Olave finished the year with 1,046 yards receiving and 4 touchdowns. New Orleans had a 7-10 record in 2022.

Olave downplayed how tough the transition from college football to the NFL is for some players, stating that his time at Ohio State prepared him well for it.

“It was kinda easy for me, coming from Ohio State,” said Olave. “They teach you that and develop you into an elite NFL player. I feel like going against them, having that competition at Ohio State prepared me a lot for the NFL and I transitioned smoothly.”

Olave joined his former Ohio State Garrett Wilson in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Wilson was taken 10th overall by the New York Jets, while the Saints picked Olave with the 11th overall pick.

Olave actually led his team in receiving yards this season. TE Juwan Johnson finished second on the team with 508 yards receiving.

Olave will be looking to do even better in 2023.
