Chris Olave looking forward to learning from Michael Thomas, Jarvis Landry in New Orleans

Chris Olave entered the 2022 NFL Draft as one of the best wide receivers making the jump to the next level. Now, he’s going to get the opportunity to learn from some of the best players at the position in the league.
Olave was selected No. 11 overall by the New Orleans Saints, going one spot behind his teammate Garrett Wilson. Olave will join a star-studded receiving corps in New Orleans, which includes Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry.
Speaking with ESPN recently, Olave said he’s looking forward to learning from two players have found a ton of success during their time in the NFL.
“He kind of showed love to me since college, so we’d text back and forth every now and then,” Olave said, per ESPN.com. “I feel like we have the same mindset. We both want to dominate. We’re both competitors. Just when we get on the field, we turn into a different person. Just knowing him and knowing he’s on the other side of the field, that’s going to make us better and make us go hard.
“I’ve watched a lot of film on Jarvis, just his short movement quickness. I watched a lot of film on him in college, trying to take some stuff out of his game. And Mike is one of the best receivers in the game, so of course I watch him. But to see them in person, see how they work in person I feel like it’s going to help me a lot.”
Olave closed out his career at Ohio State with a record-breaking 35 touchdown catches over 4 seasons. He also had 2,702 yards on 175 catches while becoming one of the top receivers of the draft class.
Heading into his rookie season, Olave is regarded as one of the top route-runners from the college level. But he’s hoping to add even more skills to his game.
That’s where he’s looking forward to learning from a player like Thomas.
“I see it, man,” Olave said. “I see the way he works. If he drops a pass, he’s punting the ball, he gets mad. But that’s who you want around you. I feel like that’s going to make you better. He’s going to call you out on your B.S. I like Mike as a teammate. Even as a person, I understand him, where he comes from. I see why he goes so hard.”
