Chris Fallica thinks that Alabama getting into the CFP with a TCU loss is complete “nonsense.”
The longtime ESPN analyst and broadcaster was quick to shoot down rumors that started swirling on Saturday as TCU fell behind Kansas State. The Horned Frogs were No. 3 headed into the Big 12 Championship against the Wildcats and were undefeated heading into the matchup. The No. 4 ranked USC Trojans also lost their footing in the rankings as they lost to Utah on Friday.
With TCU and USC losses, eyes would shift to the fifth and sixth spots on Saturday, currently being held by Ohio State and Alabama. Ohio State was on track for an undefeated season but lost out to Michigan for the second time in two years to end the regular season just outside the CFP top 4.
Alabama, in an uncharacteristic season, finished the season 10-2 and missed out on the SEC Championship. The Crimson Tide were seemingly out of CFP contention, but fans are still hoping there is some way for Alabama to get in with a TCU loss. However, Fallica says that is just ridiculous.
If TCU had an Oklahoma or Texas logo on its helmet, there would be ZERO doubt it was in – win or lose today – after a 12-0 regular season which included nine conference games. This talk of two-loss Bama jumping them with a loss is pure nonsense.

The SEC Championship between Georgia and LSU, and the B1G Championship between Michigan and Purdue will take place on Saturday. We’ll see how things will shake out in the top 4 after Saturday.
