Christian Turner scores his first Michigan touchdown

Extending Michigan’s lead to 31-0 early in the third quarter, redshirt freshman running back Christian Turner recorded the first touchdown of his collegiate career on Saturday vs. the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Michigan Stadium.

A seven-yard run, Michigan on BTN provided video of the score:

A three-star recruit in the 2018 class according to the 247Sports Composite, Turner saw playing times in three games for the Wolverines a year ago. Finishing with 95 yards on 20 attempts (4.8 yards per carry), he was Michigan’s sixth-leading rusher.

Competing for carries with freshman Zach Charbonnet and senior Tru Wilson this season, Turner accumulated 86 yards on 20 carries (4.3 YPC) in Michigan’s first three games of the 2019 season.

Ranked No. 20 in the latest AP Poll, Michigan hosts No. 14 Iowa on October 5 at 12:00PM ET.
