Wisconsin extends Paul Chryst’s contract

Once again, there’s offseason news about a Wisconsin football coach’s contract.
This time, however, it’s positive.
The university announced on Friday that it extended coach Paul Chryst’s contract through the 2021 season. Chryst’s deal, which pays him $2.3 million annually, had the rollover clause approved by Wisconsin’s athletic board.

In his first year at the helm, Chryst led the Badgers to their fifth 10-win season in the last seven years. The Badgers ended 2015 with their second straight bowl victory. As a result, they were slotted at No. 21 in the final Associated Press poll.
Wisconsin did lose defensive coordinator Dave Aranda to LSU after he led the unit to a top finish in FBS.
The Badgers have yet to officially announce a hire at the position.
