Cincinnati RB on Michigan game: We can shock the world

Riling up Michigan seems like a really bad idea.

A Florida running back and head coach Jim McElwain did it a few weeks before the Gators kicked off against the Wolverines. In case you missed it, that didn’t end well for the reigning SEC East champs.

Cincinnati running back Mike Boone doesn’t seem to be fazed Michigan’s dominant performance against Florida. He believes the Bearcats can pull off a major upset in Ann Arbor this weekend.

“I’ve got no doubt in my mind that we can go out and shock the world,” Boone told the Cincinnati Enquirer. “We’re focused this week. Razor-sharp focus. We just want to come out and execute.”

That seems like more of a confidence statement than anything else, but Michigan typically takes exception to comments like that. And you really don’t want to give the Wolverines any additional motivation heading into a game.

Boone rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries is Cincinnati’s 26-14 win over Austin Peay. He’s going to need a similar performance if he wants to propel the Bearcats to a stunning road win over Michigan this Saturday.
