Rating numbers for the Rose Bowl, Citrus Bowl, Sugar Bowl and College Football Playoff semifinals were released recently by ESPN and the Citrus Bowl between Michigan and Alabama did quite well for ABC.
According to the release, the game was ABC’s most-watched bowl game since the 2010 National Championship. Michigan-Alabama generated 14,003,000 viewers. It marked the fourth-highest all-time for the Citrus Bowl.

The number was the game’s best since 2008 when Michigan took on Florida (14,780,000 viewers). Michigan may have lost 35-16 on Wednesday to kick off the new year, but ABC can’t be upset by the ratings the Wolverines helped bring in.
Michigan likely doesn’t care too much about that.
