CJ Stroud announced as one of 11 finalists for Manning Award

CJ Stroud is one of the eleven finalists for the prestigious Manning Award which was created to respect the performances of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning as elite collegiate quarterbacks.
The award committee prides itself as the only award for the position that utilizes the candidates’ bowl performances in its final vote.
Stroud has been outstanding this year with 37 touchdowns while throwing for 3,340 yards passing. Stroud has been arguably one of the best quarterbacks in the nation during both his seasons as the Buckeye’s starter.
On 355 attempts, Stroud completed 235 passes for a 66.2 completion percentage and has helped Ohio State continue their tradition of elite offenses. He leads the nation in passing efficiency with a 176.25 rating.
In 2021, Stroud finished as a finalist with Alabama’s Bryce Young winning the award. Along with Stroud, Caleb Williams at USC, Bryce Young at Alabama, Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker, Stetson Bennett at Georgia and Oregon’s Bo Nix have all be announced as the final 11.
Stroud is potentially the first quarterback to be taken in the 2023 NFL Draft and shown a lot of potential throughout the season.The winner will be announced after the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Can Stroud claim the award for Ohio State this time around?
