No. 4 Ohio State, led by quarterback C.J. Stroud, had the responsibility of not falling victim to the highly efficient defense that No. 2 Iowa and No. 3 Michigan State did earlier in the season. Not only did Ohio State’s offense outmatch Purdue’s defense, but they also dominated them as Ohio State won 59-31.

After the game, Stroud was complementary of his team’s offensive performance against Purdue. Ohio State was efficient in extending drives in the air and on the ground. Stroud said this offensive performance all season.

Ohio State’s offense accounted for 624 total yards of offense in their win over Purdue, which is the most that Ohio State has accounted for in a single game all season. It is two more yards than in the 59-7 win over Akron.

Stroud wasn’t too bad himself, completing 31-of-38 passes for 361 yards and 5 touchdowns. Garrett Wilson had 126 receiving yards and 4 total touchdowns while Jaxon Smith-Njigba piled up 139 receiving yards and a score.

Miyan Williams was the leading rusher with 117 yards on 14 carries and TreVeyon Henderson had 98 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Buckeyes.

This offensive performance was more significant because Ohio State accomplished this over an efficient defense in Purdue.
