CJ Stroud is seeing his first action as an NFL player on Thursday night.
In the Texans’ first preseason game, Stroud got the start. Let’s just say, it didn’t take long for the rookie to get his NFL wake-up call.

Stroud was attempting to find fellow rookie WR Tank Dell, but the route was read perfectly by veteran safety Jalen Mills. It looked like Stroud telegraphed the throw and Mills read it the entire way.
This is the kind of thing that happens with rookies. It will certainly not be the last interception that Stroud throws. What will be interesting is how the young quarterback bounces back. The Patriots, even in the preseason, are a tough defensive matchup for a young signal-caller.
Stroud is hoping to turn the Texans’ fortunes around in 2023 after having the second-worst record in the NFL in 2022.
