C.J. Stroud talked about some receivers that have caught his eye during bowl game practices. The Ohio State QB mentioned two players who have really stepped up at Tuesday’s presser.
Stroud has no shortage of talent to throw to at Ohio State. Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka are just some of the top options.
However, Stroud stated that Caleb Burton and walk-on Reis Stockade have really improved recently. Burton was a former 4-star WR from the 2022 class per the 247Sports Composite. Stroud expects Stocksdale to get some more playing time moving forward.
Asked which young receivers have stepped up during bowl practices, the first player C.J. Stroud named was Caleb Burton. “He’s gotten a lot better.”
Stroud also talked up walk-on Reid Stocksdale, saying he expects Stocksdale to see more playing time over the course of his career.

Ohio State’s depth at multiple positions will be tested against Georgia. It’s worth noting what happened the last time that Ohio State came into the College Football Playoff at No. 4. The Buckeyes went on to upset No. 1 Alabama and beat Oregon in the national title game that year.
It won’t be easy for the Buckeyes as they have to march into Atlanta to knock off the top-ranked Bulldogs.
