Clay Cundiff went down with what appeared to be a serious injury during the loss to Ohio State. The Wisconsin tight end was hit low by Tanner McCalister while making a grab and was immediately in pain.

Cundiff stayed down and was in visible pain after the hit. He immediately grabbed the lower portion of his left leg and was soon met by his teammates while getting carted off the field.

After the game, head coach Paul Chryst provided a brief but unfortunate update on Cundiff’s injury. Chryst confirms he believes Cundiff “broke it” but did not specify if it is a bone in the leg or ankle that was injured.

It was an unfortunate blow to Cundiff after suffering a season-ending injury in the game vs. Iowa last season. Cundiff was 3rd on the team with 9 catches for 142 yards with 2 touchdowns at the time of his injury.

Here’s hoping Cundiff can make a complete recovery for a player that has been through the wringer lately.
