The 2021 version of the Clemson football team isn’t what we’re used to.
This week’s AP Top 25 has the Tigers ranked at No. 25, marking the first time Dabo Sweeney’s crew have been outside the poll’s Top 10 since 2015.

New starting quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei has been struggling as young QBs do, with inconsistency and inaccuracy, and at times decision-making lapses during big moments. Sweeney has insisted that he gives the Tigers the best chance to win and that there is no quarterback controversy at Clemson.
The Tigers have won six straight ACC titles, and also made it to the College Football Playoffs as many times. There’s even the 2018 national title they won toppling Alabama. Sweeney clearly has the most talented team in the ACC and should be near the top of the standings at the end of the season, but they need to start playing like, well, Clemson.
Clemson hosts Boston College on Saturday, Oct. 2 with a 6:30 PM kickoff.
