Colin Cowherd blasts Michigan investigation: ‘If Purdue was doing this, nobody would care’

Colin Cowherd stepped up in defense of Michigan and Jim Harbaugh on Tuesday’s show.

Harbaugh’s program is currently being investigated by the NCAA on allegations of improper sign stealing and in-person scouting of future opponents. Staffer Connor Stalions is at the center of that investigation, and it was reported Tuesday that Stalions purchased tickets to over 30 B1G games in the last three seasons.

Cowherd sounded off on the investigation, claiming that it’s only gaining traction because Michigan is a big name in the world of college football. He compared it to deflate gate and talked about how if Kirk Cousins was using over-inflating footballs no one would notice.

“This is deflate gate. If Kirk Cousins was found to be using a slightly over inflated football for a couple of games, it would not get a suffix. It would not be a story. It would be a Saturday Night Live skit. With Brady it would be, ‘Major expose, Russian espionage.’ You couldn’t beat em’. Right now, no one can touch Michigan, they even humiliated Ohio State. If Purdue was doing this, nobody would care. It would be the eighth story on FoxSports.com… If you didn’t know a rule existed before this story, you can’t be outraged by it.”

Do you agree with Cowherd? Would the same thing be happening if this were at Purdue?
