Colin Cowherd praises B1G for rule change: ‘This is who you want representing your conference’

Opposing B1G coaches like Nebraska’s Scott Frost understand why Ohio State is getting preferential treatment from the conference.

Now, FOX Sports personality Colin Cowherd is also on board with the B1G’s decision to accommodate Ohio State’s viability to qualify for the College Football Playoff. The B1G has changed the minimum amount of games required to reach the conference title game.

While it may infuriate those who are tired of the old guard, Cowherd makes a valid point. Ohio State is one of the B1G’s biggest brands, so it makes sense that they would want to enable them to represent the conference on the national stage.

Undefeated Ohio State has played five games, with three cancelled due to COVID-19: vs. Maryland, Illinois, and this weekend’s matchup vs. Michigan.

Ohio State will face Northwestern on Dec. 19 in the B1G title game (11 a.m. CST/FOX). Ohio State is currently ranked fourth in the CFP rankings. If the rankings hold, Ohio State would face undefeated No. 1 Alabama in the semifinals.

Ohio State is looking to avenge last season’s loss in the CFP semifinals against Clemson.
