Colin Kaepernick will be doing more than just serving as an honorary captain during Michigan’s spring game on Saturday. The former 49ers quarterback will be holding an exhibition throwing event, as well.
ESPN’s Field Yates reported on Friday afternoon that Kaepernick will take part in an exhibition throwing event with a handful of Michigan’s draft-eligible players. It will be held during halftime of the team’s annual spring game inside Michigan Stadium on Saturday.
Per Yates, NFL “club personnel in attendance are permitted to watch the event.” Kaepernick was announced as the honorary captain for the game earlier this week.

Kaepernick is currently a free agent. He suited up for the 49ers from 2011-16, leading the team to a Super Bowl appearance following the 2012 regular season.
Jim Harbaugh was the coach in San Francisco when Kaepernick led the team to a Super Bowl berth. Clearly, the two have kept a strong relationship since Harbaugh was fired and took the head coaching job at Michigan.
Michigan’s spring game is scheduled for a 12 p.m. ET start.
