College basketball team needs just one half of play to hit triple digits

There were probably some fans that thought the 122-point outburst by Illinois would be the best offensive performance on Wednesday, but those fans would be wrong.

Yes, the Fighting Illini were on fire in their huge win to open the season. That included a 64-point second half as Ayo Dosunmu and Adam Miller each scored 28 points in a blowout of North Carolina A&T.

But you know what is more impressive than that? A 100-point first half of action. No, seriously.

In Wednesday’s game between Greenville (IL) and Samford, the Bulldogs put up an insane 102 points as the game headed to halftime. They had already built a 52-point lead over Greenville at the break:

Surprisingly, Samford only shot 10-for-21 from three-point land, likely the area fans expected to see a big number. Instead, the Bulldogs shot 40-for-60 overall, which means the team shot an incredible 30-for-39 inside the arc.

At the half, Samford had three players in double figures with the highest individual output at 18 points. Remarkably, 13 players scored for the Bulldogs with just two players failing to score in the period.
