College football analyst lists Michigan State No. 2 in latest Top 8

College football analyst Danny Kanell ranks his top 8 teams each week during the college football season. This week’s ranking from the SiriusXM host and CBS Sports analyst are sure to get some reaction, with the unbeaten Michigan State Spartans up at his No. 2 spot.

Some argument could be made for the jump, as Michigan State came away with a victory this weekend in their battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy with in-state rival Michigan.

The Wolverines were up two scores in the third period after a 19-yard touchdown pass from Cade McNamara to Mike Sainristil 19 Yd pass moved the score to 30-14 in favor of Michigan. But MSU running back Kenneth Walker III proved to be too much for the Michigan defense, exploding for 197 rushing yards and finding the end zone 5 times.

The Spartans leap frogged Alabama, Oklahoma and fellow B1G powerhouse Ohio State on his list.

So expect some bounce-back on his Tweet from a few fronts.
