The 2022 college football season has yet to kick off, but that doesn’t stop media members from making postseason projections in the preseason.

Brad Crawford of 247Sports shared his projections for all 43 bowl games on Tuesday. Crawford has 10 B1G teams going bowling. The highlights include one team in the College Football Playoff (and National Championship) as well as 2 others making New Year’s Six bowls.

Here are the Big Ten projections from Crawford:

  • Maryland – Birmingham Bowl vs. Mississippi State
  • Purdue – Quick Lane Bowl vs. Central Michigan
  • Iowa – Guaranteed Rate Bowl vs. Kansas State
  • Michigan State – Pinstripe Bowl vs. Boston College
  • Nebraska – Duke’s Mayo Bowl vs. Florida State
  • Penn State – Music City Bowl vs. Kentucky
  • Minnesota – Citrus Bowl vs. Arkansas
  • Wisconsin – Orange Bowl (NY6) vs. NC State
  • Michigan – Rose Bowl (NY6) vs. Utah
  • Ohio State – Fiesta Bowl (CFP) vs. Georgia; National Championship vs. Alabama

Maryland’s projection is notably curious. Crawford lists the games tie-ins as AAC/ACC/C-USA vs. SEC. Sometimes games pick an alternate at-large squad, though the Birmingham Bowl has a pool of 3 conferences to find its SEC opponent.

Crawford’s full list of projections can be viewed here.
