College football bowl projections are getting updated coming out of Week 9 with CBS Sports expert Jerry Palm releasing his latest outlook. Those projections include 1 B1G team in the College Football Playoff and another pair of B1G programs in New Year’s Six Bowls.
According to Palm, he has Ohio State matched up once again against Dabo Swinney’s Clemson program in the Playoff. Those two sides have faced off multiple times in the postseason with Ryan Day and Justin Fields getting the best of the most recent matchup after the 2020 season.
The other CFP matchup Palm is projecting is Tennessee vs. Georgia. That could shift after Week 10 with those two SEC East foes set to square off in Athens, Georgia.
We’ll see if these projections hold up, or if another team can crash the Playoff picture down the stretch.
Here are B1G teams projected to be playing in the postseason after Week 9:
Ohio State
- Fiesta Bowl (CFP) vs. Clemson
Michigan
- Rose Bowl vs. USC
Penn State
- Orange Bowl vs. Wake Forest
Illinois
- Citrus Bowl vs. Ole Miss
Maryland
- Music City Bowl vs. Kentucky
Purdue
- Duke’s Mayo Bowl vs. NC State
Minnesota
- Pinstripe Bowl vs. Duke

- Guaranteed Rate Bowl vs. Oklahoma
