College football is full of surprises. Every weekend, it seems there’s something that happens that is unbelievable.

Well, that was certainly the case at Old Dominion on Friday night as the Monarchs hosted the Virginia Tech Hokies.

As you can see below, the game was delayed coming out of halftime after some Virginia Tech coaches got stuck in an elevator trying to get back up to the coaches’ box:

That’s certainly a delay you don’t see every day (or every year, or every decade). The maintenance crew for the stadium is going to be pulling some late-night duty, it seems.

Heading into the third quarter, the Monarchs are leading the Hokies 10-7. It’s safe to say the Virginia Tech coaches won’t be too happy if they lose and get stuck in an elevator in the same night. Perhaps they’ll take the stairs when they head down after the game.
