The coronavirus pandemic has officially taken a hit on MACtion.
On Sunday, the MAC announced its first cancellation of the season due to COVID-19. That game was scheduled to be on Tuesday between Ohio University and Miami University of Ohio.
The team that appears to be dealing with the outbreak is Ohio. The game will not be a forfeit for the Bobcats, however.

This game being canceled is especially frustrating for fans of these squads. This would’ve been the 97th meeting between these teams in a game they call the “Battle of the Bricks.”
The Redhawks are 1-1 so far this season after winning against Ball State in the season opener. Then, Miami dropped its second game of the season to Buffalo this past Tuesday. The Redhawks’ next scheduled game is against Akron on Nov. 28.
Ohio also sits at 1-1. The Bobcats fell on the road at Central Michigan to open the season before rebounding with a 24-10 win against Akron. Ohio’s next scheduled game is Nov. 28 against Bowling Green.
