The wait is finally over as the first rankings for the College Football Playoff were released Tuesday evening!
After much speculation, the picture for the race to the Playoff is much clearer. It will come as no surprise that Alabama occupied the top overall spot while Clemson, LSU, and Notre Dame rounded out the top four.
The B1G was well represented as Iowa (No. 16) and Penn State (No. 14) checked in on the top 25. However, the big surprise was Ohio State all the way at No. 10 with Kentucky and Washington State among those ahead of the Buckeyes.
The highest ranked team from the B1G is Michigan at No. 5. There is currently no clear path for the Wolverines to the Playoff, but one would have to think that would change with wins over Penn State, Ohio State, and a B1G Championship Game win.
