College football rankings: ESPN updates Top 25 teams ahead of Week 1

ESPN updated its Football Power Index (FPI) following a Week 0 Saturday slate of college football. A total of 22 teams were in action Saturday, including six Power 5 programs, three from the B1G.
There were only some minor changes in the Top 25 of the FPI with a lot of movement lower down the totem pole. Vanderbilt saw the biggest jump after its 63-10 victory over Hawai’i, followed by Illinois in its 38-6 stomping of Wyoming. Ohio State remains the top dog in the B1G at No. 2.
