College Gameday analysts pick Rutgers-MSU and Iowa-Purdue ATS

Two of ESPN’s College Gameday analysts have made their selections for two games in the B1G.
The first prediction was made by Chris “Bear” Fallica who traditionally has three games up on his “Bear’s Board” for the weekend. This week, Bear picked the Rutgers-Michigan State matchup which currently has the Spartans as an 11.5-point favorite for the game.
To Bear, he likes what Greg Schiano has done in the offseason to boost Rutgers’ roster via the transfer portal. He also pointed to the turnover at Michigan State and the struggles of the Spartans to consistently cover the spread in recent history.
With that in mind, Bear took Rutgers +11.5 in the showdown. Though he did shy away from committing to take the Scarlet Knights to win straight up, he did admit that they have “a very good chance” of beating the Spartans to start the season.
The other pick came courtesy of Pat McAfee in the Iowa vs Purdue contest. As a part of his “Hammers” segment, McAfee feels rock-solid in taking the Hawkeyes to win and cover the -3 coming into the weekend.
The Boilermakers do have the deck stacked against them coming into the game. Head coach Jeff Brohm is in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19 and star receiver Rondale Moore will also miss the game for an undisclosed reason.
