Jim Harbaugh and Michigan will be in the national spotlight in the first week of the 2018 season as ESPN’s College GameDay has announced it will set up shop in South Bend for the Week 1 battle between the Wolverines and Notre Dame.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 1 with kickoff coming at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on NBC.

The Week 1 matchup between Michigan and Notre Dame marks the first time the two teams have played each other on the field since 2014, a game the Irish won 31-0.

Michigan and Notre Dame have played 42 times, with the Wolverines owning the all-time series with a 24-17-1 record. The two programs have not faced since Harbaugh took over in Ann Arbor.

A renewed rivalry is back on the docket and College GameDay will be in town for the show. Could Week 1 get any better?
