It all goes down on New Year’s Eve!
After a dramatic regular season and beginning to bowl play, the college football world officially turns to the College Football Playoff on Friday afternoon. Alabama and Cincinnati will get things started with the Cotton Bowl with Michigan and Georgia following with the Orange Bowl in primetime.
Leading up to the game, ESPN’s College GameDay crew discussed and previewed all the matchups. Included in those previews was Chris Fallica’s “Bear’s Board.”
In the Orange Bowl, Bear went with Georgia and the -7.5 points that the Bulldogs are favored by. Any hopes of Michigan keeping things close are likely to rest on the defense, but Bear believes Georgia will look like the team that dominated the No. 1 spot for much of the season and not the team that was blown out by Alabama in Atlanta.
For the Cotton Bowl, Bear stayed away from the spread entirely. Instead, he picked Cincinnati’s point total which was set at 22.5. Bear took the under, expecting Alabama to win while holding Cincinnati below 23 points in the win.
Will his picks hold up, or can Michigan and Cincinnati produce some shockers? The action gets started with the Cotton Bowl on ESPN at 3:30 pm EST.
