Judging the B1G is a pretty difficult chore this basketball season. With so many talented teams throughout the league, it’s tough to find any separation between a good chunk of the conference.
College basketball expert and Big Ten Network contributor Andy Katz recently gave it his best try, though. This week, Katz adjusted his latest power rankings in the B1G to give us an idea of how things stand as we hit the middle of February and approach March.
Michigan is still the team on top, sitting in the No. 1 spot with just one loss on the season. However, the Wolverines have been sidelined for two weeks because of COVID-19 concerns, so when they return to the floor, there could be some rust.
Nebraska, which hasn’t won a B1G game yet, is at the very bottom of Katz’s updated power rankings. What about the other 12 teams? Here’s how Katz is ranking them right now:
- Michigan Wolverines
- Ohio State Buckeyes
- Illinois Fighting Illini
- Purdue Boilermakers
- Rutgers Scarlet Knights
- Iowa Hawkeyes
- Wisconsin Badgers
- Indiana Hoosiers
- Maryland Terrapins
- Penn State Nittany Lions
- Minnesota Golden Gophers
- Michigan State Spartans
- Northwestern Wildcats
- Nebraska Cornhuskers
