College hoops preseason Associated Press Poll released

Published:
College basketball season is fast approaching, and Monday’s preseason AP Top 25 means we’re getting closer.
Is it any surprise Gonzaga is No. 1? It’s not close, either. The Bulldogs received 55 of the 63 first-place votes, with UCLA coming in at No. 2 and the other 8.
The B1G is well-represented, though. Michigan (No. 6) and Purdue (No. 7) cracked the Top 10 while Illinois (No. 11) just missed out. Ohio State checked in at No. 17 and Maryland is No. 21. Michigan State is the unofficial No. 26 team with 87 votes, and Indiana was right behind, appearing on 41 ballots. Rutgers also received 11 votes.
