Some teams and coaches will haggle over whether or not to release depth charts ahead of games, but Colorado decided to take a funny angle leading up to the game against Minnesota.
When it comes to PJ Fleck and the Gophers, they do not traditionally release depth charts. So early in the week, the Buffs dropped a fictitious depth chart with some hilarious positions and names mentioned.
On offense, Colorado listed “Reefer Receiver” with the starter being Jimmy Buffett. The offensive line also featured the Cartwright Brothers, Fred Flintstone, and Barney Rubble.
Defensively, Colorado had Ron Burgundy and Brick Tamland at one cornerback location. That side of the ball also featured the “Beatleback” position with Paul McCartney starting and Ringo Starr as the backup.
