Michigan State quarterbacks have some impressive distinctions for all-time comebacks. Kirk Cousins cemented the status for the Spartans on Saturday.

Playing with the Minnesota Vikings, Cousins and company fell behind in a 33-0 hole at home against the Indianapolis Colts. Seemingly insurmountable, Cousins threw 4 touchdowns in the second half with 3 in the fourth quarter to rally the Vikings to an overtime win.s

Erasing that 33-point deficit in a win goes down as the largest comeback in NFL history. It was an accomplishment that briefly left Cousins speechless after the game.

According to longtime NFL writer Rick Gosselin, Cousins’ comeback also gives the Spartans the distinction of producing the QBs with the largest comebacks at the NCAA and NFL levels. During the 2006 season, Drew Stanton rallied the Spartans for a 35-point comeback in a win over Northwestern. That goes down as the largest comeback in NCAA history.

If you’re a team looking for a thrilling comeback, hopefully, there’s a Spartan QB available on the roster. Seems they know a thing or two about bringing a team back from the brink.
