Comeback? Purdue’s David Bell takes impressive grab for 89-yard score vs Nebraska

Purdue has not quit, coming all the way back to cut Nebraska’s lead to seven points.
The comeback was started with Payne Durham’s touchdown toward the end of the third quarter. It was a nice catch-and-run by Durham, tip-toeing the sideline all the way inside the line to hit the pylon.
On the ensuing Nebraska possession, the Boilermaker defense finally stood up and forced a quick punt by the Huskers. It gave the ball back to quarterback Jack Plummer and the offense, though they were pinned back on their own 11-yard line.
That didn’t matter as Plummer and the incredible David Bell hooked up for this long score. The throw was into double coverage, but Bell was able to snag it above the Husker defenders.
After the grab, the rest was gravy as Bell hit the gas and never looked back. He raced 89 yards for the score to make it a seven-point game in the fourth quarter:
