Conner Heyward is no stranger to Aidan Hutchinson. He’s met him on the line back in their college days at Michigan State and Michigan, respectively.
Heyward, a tight end/fullback who was drafted 208th overall to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2022 NFL Draft, bested the No. 2 overall pick in Sunday’s Steelers versus Lions matchup.

Would it surprise you if we told you this wasn’t the first time Heyward has come out on top when the two match up? Heyward’s block sprung a Kenneth Walker touchdown last season.
Another impressive block by Connor Heyward against Aidan Hutchinson. This one helps spring Kenneth Walker for a big TD run. #Steelers pic.twitter.com/Ra92lySWSk

Heyward has totaled 5 receptions for 30 yards across his NFL debut. Hutchinson, to his credit, has looked like the No. 2 overall pick for the Lions early.
