The court date for Nebraska running back Maurice Washington has been pushed back, according to a report of the Omaha World-Herald.
On Tuesday, the Omaha World-Herald reported that Washington — who is facing two felony charges in California — has had his court hearing delayed until October. It was originially scheduled for Monday, Sept. 3, but has now been pushed to Oct. 17.
Washington is awaiting to appear in a California court in a child pornography case that stems from before arriving at Nebraska. Washington allegedly violated the state’s revenge porn law by sending a 10-second video of a 15-year-old girl performing a sex act to that same girl. He also allegedly sent a vulgar message with the video.
Washington did not record the video and was not involved in the act.
Following Saturday’s 35-21 win over South Alabama, Frost spoke with the media and confirmed that Washington will continue to play during the season until there’s a ruling in his case.

“We won’t consider any additional discipline for him until the matter is completely adjudicated, so the plan was to sit him in the first half and play him the second,” Frost said in postgame presser. “He’ll play going forward. I won’t have any other comment about it until it’s adjudicated in California.”
Washington will be on the field as the Huskers play Colorado on Saturday.
