The popularity of Netflix’s Last Chance U docuseries has inspired a new scripted series, which will be headlined by popular actress Courtney Cox.
According to Deadline.com, the scripted series was inspired by Brittany Wagner, the academic advisor at East Mississippi Community College. She was part of the first two seasons of Last Chance U.
Cox is known most notably for her role as Monica Geller in Friends. She also starred in Cougar Town. Former NFL star Michael Strahan will be an executive producer for the scripted series, as well.
Wagner left East Mississippi Community College to become the Catering Sales and Marketing Director for Newk’s Eatery in Birmingham, Alabama. However, Wagner’s Twitter handle now says she’s a motivational speaker and the founder of 10 Thousand Pencils, LLC. She operates BrittanyWagner.com.
Season 4 of Last Chance U is set to air on Netflix beginning July 19.
