Kirk Cousins has done many smart things this year.
But this was certainly not one of them.
With the Washington Redskins driving at the end of the first half, the former Michigan State quarterback had to stop the clock on the Eagles’ 6-yard line. Instead, he went a different route.
Cousins took a knee and ran out the clock on himself. Redskins coach Jay Gruden was so confused that he didn’t even know why it happened:

For what it’s worth, Cousins did lead Washington to a halftime lead.
If the Redskins win the game, all will be forgotten. We might even get to hear this one-liner again.
We can only hope.
