At least new head coach Ryan Day doesn’t have to worry about losing this commit.
Day is taking over for Urban Meyer with the Buckeyes heading into 2019. Expectations remain high as Ohio State will continue to be one of the most talented teams in the nation. However, there is usually a bit of turnover among high school recruits during a head coaching change.
Fortunately for the Buckeyes, it doesn’t sound like they have to worry about losing Paris Johnson’s commitment. According to Bill Kurelic with Bucknuts, Johnson took time to comment on his recruitment and commitment to Ohio State on Monday:
“It’s a done deal,” Johnson said when asked about Ohio State.

Johnson is a big-time offensive lineman that should be a big boost to the Buckeyes. He is rated the No. 1 OT in the nation, No. 1 player out of Ohio, and No. 7 player overall nationally on the 247 Sports Composite Rankings for the 2020 class. Johnson has been committed to the Buckeyes since June of 2018, but it is good to know the coaching change has not impacted his commitment.
