Bill Cubit is getting back to coaching.
The former Illinois coach was fired in the beginning of 2016 upon the arrival of new athletic director of Josh Whitman.
Cubit, who took a year off from coaching, is reportedly back in the game. According to Footballscoop.com, Cubit will be the new head coach at Martin County (Fla.) High School.

It’ll be a reunion for Cubit, who coached at Martin County back in 1986-88.
Cubit reportedly had Division 1 offensive coordinator opportunities, as well as lower-level head coaching jobs. He spent 2016 living in Florida.
Cubit took over for Tim Beckman right before the start of the 2015 season after his dismissal because of a player mistreatment scandal. Cubit was 5-7 in his lone season as Illinois’ head coach.
In his 42-year coaching career, Cubit spent 10 seasons as a college head coach. He compiled a 90-72-1 record.
