Dabo Swinney is just like every other coach trying to adjust to the new era of college football. Then again, he might not be just like those other coaches.

During his Early Signing Day press conference, Swinney addressed the new era of the transfer portal and NIL usage in college sports. While Clemson has not been a big player (to this point) in utilizing the portal, Swinney did claim his program is built on the usage of Name, Image and Likeness.

However, Swinney specific it was a specific type of NIL, claiming the Tigers program is built “in God’s” NIL.

That is definitely an interesting angle for describing Clemson’s football program. Then again, Swinney’s definitely an interesting character in college football.
