Dain Dainja, Illinois forward, announces plans for 2023-24 season

Dain Dainja has announced his plans for the 2023-24 season, and the Illinois big man is ready to run it back.
“For those that are wondering I will be staying!!,” he shared on social media.
Dainja showed improvement this past season, as he played in all 32 games with 20 starts. He averaged 9.5 points (63.7% FG), 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks for the Illini. Dainja ranked 21st in the Big Ten in rebounding and 10th in the Big Ten in blocks. He was Illinois’ No. 4 scorer and No. 2 rebounder.
He briefly played at Baylor before he transferred in the middle of the 2021-22 season.
He was a Class of 2020 top-100 prospect out of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Last season, he developed himself into a valuable low-post player for Illinois.
