Dan Lanning and the No. 1 Oregon Ducks are in their first season in the B1G and are now playing games on the road where they have rarely played. This week, the Ducks travel to Ann Arbor to take on the defending national champion Michigan Wolverines.
While the Wolverines aren’t quite the team they were last season, winning on the road in the Big House is never an easy challenge. Lanning was asked during his Monday press conference about what it means to take his team to Michigan Stadium, a venue he hasn’t been in before.
True to its name, Lanning provided a simple explanation for what he’s heard about the Big House.
“I heard it’s big,” cracked Lanning. “Yeah, I heard it’s big. That’s one of the things I think that’s exciting about being in this conference, is getting the opportunity to play at some historic places. And this is certainly a historic place.”
These 2 teams have not played very often, as this will be only their sixth all-time matchup. The last time they played was in 2007, and the Ducks won that game in Ann Arbor by a score of 39-7. That was the game after the historic Appalachian State win in Ann Arbor.
Kickoff between Oregon and Michigan will be at 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will be on CBS.
